About Mallorca

The Balearic Islands are one of Spain’s autonomous regions, with Palma de Mallorca its capital. Palma is a popular tourist destination with millions of tourists visiting each year. Professional businesses servicing the yachting industry abound in this picturesque and metropolitan city. Whether it be project management, refit, haul out yards or paint refinishing services, crew placement or uniforms, they are all available within close proximity of the city of Palma.

The Port of Palma has several marinas, which offer some great berthing facilities. See our marina section for further details. There are two well known Shipyards in the Port of Palma. Astilleros De Mallorca offers a ONE STOP Superyacht Service Centre with all haul out facilities and allocated project managers. The larger shipyard is the Servicios Tecnicos Portuarios (STP Yard), which Astilleros has a second office at, offers haul out facilities, hard standing and associated services. This shipyard now has the largest Travel Lift in the Balearics.  Palma has become one of the most highly respected refit and repair centres in the Med…

Palma is a truly vibrant and beautiful, cosmopolitan city, with much to offer: the shopping precinct is full of well-known brand names as well, there are al fresco cafes, bars and dining establishments up and down the Paseo Maritimo, Santa Catalina area and old town parts of the city.

The countless historic buildings in the old town and the iconic cathedral are well worth a visit.

There is an abundance of art galleries in Mallorca: visit https://www.seemallorca.com/museums/ and https://www.mallorcadelujo.com/en/art-galleries-mallorca-contemporary/ for more detailed information/ exhibitions.

Just over 5km to the west of Palma lies Puerto Portals which is renowned worldwide as not only a first class full service marina for Superyachts, but also for the trend setting reputation it has earned since opening in 1986. It has an abundance of designer shops, boutiques, bars and fine dining restaurants; making this fashionable port a favourite choice of many Superyacht owners and Captains. During the summer months the marina and surrounding area becomes the haunt of the rich and famous, with the docks lined with supercars complementing the selection of Superyachts!

Port Adriano - in the south west of Mallorca, 20 km from Palma, between Puerto Portals and the Port of Andratx, offers superyachts a great alternative to the marinas in the city of Palma.

It is connected by a motorway network that also takes you to the International airport in less than 30 minutes.

The Port provides modern facilities in an attractive setting, with a fully serviced purpose built  ‘marina base and boatyard’ for Superyachts and their crew. During the summer season the port hosts live concerts and entertainment; together with the boutique shops and many restaurants the Port has become a very popular alternative to the marinas in the hustle and bustle of Palma, especially in the hot summer months!

Just north of Port Adriano and Santa Ponca, across the Ma 1 motorway is the Son Bugadelles Industrial Estate, home to many of the large companies servicing the Superyacht Industry Island wide.

EVENTS:
Palma de Mallorca hosts several hi-profile events, The Palma Superyacht Show at the end of April each year, and sailing regattas including The Superyacht Cup in June and the Copa Del Rey at the end of July.

Apart from the year round vast array of services and events directly associated with the yachting industry, Mallorca has many attractions to offer – from all outdoor sports and spectacular hiking trails to opera and classical concerts, Art Exhibitions and galleries, to holistic well being retreats.

Mallorca has become an island home to many ex yachties over the years, with a strong community and expat infra structure.
