About St-Tropez

At the beginning of the 20th century, St-Tropez’s principle industry was its port, for shipping and, somewhat fishing. The port was destroyed in 1944 during the war, and then rebuilt. In the early 1950’s, the Bohemian artists from Paris made St-Tropez their summer quarters, and these famous writers, actors and painters brought the town a reputation that remains to this day.

Today, St-Tropez - affectionately referred to as “St-Trop” by the locals - is home to more luxury yachts than fishing boats. Even though it is now a popular destination of the rich and famous, St-Tropez has still managed to retain its Provençal fishing village charm. Its harbour is located in the heart of the village, and with its narrow cobbled streets, it hosts a variety of restaurants, luxury hotels, stylish shops and bars… and its nightlife is second to none on the French Riviera. The famous Annonciade museum located along the harbour, houses an extensive ‘impressionist art collection’ and nearby is the colourful open-air market at the Place des Lices. St-Tropez also offers first class services and provisioning for the professionally crewed yachts.

The Pampelonne Beach is famous for its beach clubs and picturesque hill villages of Ramatuelle and Gassin, which have superb views and are not far away from the bustle of town. The spectacular Voiles de St-Tropez Regatta marks the end of the season in October, bringing together the most beautiful collection of classic and modern yachts.
